» 19th September 2019

Callum Wing, DBS H&V Craftsman, has been recognised as both the BESA Heating and Ventilation Apprentice of the Year and the BESA Overall Apprentice of the Year 2019 at the London, South East and Midlands Regional Awards.

The BESA Regional Awards recognise apprentices within the building services industry who have had outstanding achievements over the past year particularly focussing on those who have shown exceptional progress, overcome adversity and have exceeded expectations throughout their apprenticeship programme.

Callum commented;

'Winning the BESA H&V and Overall Apprentice award for London, South East and the Midlands is a great achievement and being recognised for all of the hard work that I have put into my apprenticeship is a brilliant feeling! I'm excited about my future within mechanical building services and know that my apprenticeship is only the first stepping stone in my career, it's great to be able to share my experiences with other people and encourage others that apprenticeships offer all the oppotunities, and more, that going to university does.'

Callum will now go through to the National Awards being held on 21st November at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel in London where he will face competiton from the winners of the other Regional Finals from the North West, North East, Scotland, Yorkshire and Wales and the South West.

BESA - The Building Engineering Services Association - was established in 1904 to support and serve their members active in the design, installation, commissioning, maintenance, control and management of engineering systems and services in buildings.
