Derry’s pass CHAS ‘SIX PACK’ TEST

» 18th May 2010

Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme

In February 2010, we became CHAS compliant after submitting an application for Health and Safety Prequalification Assessment via the Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme.

The aim of this application is firstly to provide assurances to our existing and potential clients that we have already met or exceeded health and safety standards and competence, through assessment from an independent body and secondly, to reduce unnecessary duplication when completing health and safety questionnaires.

The ‘Six Pack’ Test covered (but is not limited to) the following:-

  1. The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations
  2. Manual Handling Operations Regulations
  3. Display Screen Equipment (DSE) Regulations
  4. Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations
  5. Provision and use of Work Equipment Regulations
  6. Protective Personal Equipment (PPE) Regulations

Our organisation has had in place for a number of years, a robust Health and Safety Management System that has received Gold RoSPA Awards for the last seven years consecutively. However, this assessment is another step further for peace of mind that our clients know we have completed an assessment and attained acceptable standards of health & safety compliance.
