At this year’s awards Derry Building Services will be defending their title for the Training and Development Award as well as supporting Joanne Lacey, Quantity Surveyor, who has reached the finals in the Employee of the Year Award category.
Mark Townsend, Managing Director commented;
‘We are thrilled to have been recognised in the Training and Staff Development category again this year. In addition to our standard Apprenticeship and Higher Education programmes we have worked hard to improve on last year’s performance and have introduced a further four courses in business writing, management effectiveness, influencing skills and presentation skills equating to an additional 136 days of training for our office team. We have also achieved Platinum Status with the CSCS Card Scheme with 95% of our workforce now being carded to prove their competence when on site.
We are also incredibly proud of Joanne for reaching the finals in the Employee of the Year category. Joanne has showed outstanding dedication and commitment both academically, achieving First Class Honours for her degree, and in the work place - I can’t think of anyone more deserving than her to achieve this recognition and we will all be rooting for her on the night.’
Winners will be announced at the Newark Business Awards Ceremony to be held at Kelham Hall on Monday 2nd December 2013.
