Lewis Berry Awarded H&V Apprentice of the Year

» 19th October 2015

Lewis Berry has been awarded NVQ Level 3 Heating and Ventilation Apprentice of the Year 2015 from Leeds College of Building.

Lewis, who completed his 4 year Mechanical Apprenticeship with DBS this year, was praised by his tutor Paul Guise, Curriculum Manager for H&V at Leeds College of Building who commented;

'I have taught Lewis at level 3 and have been really impressed with him in all areas of the course. His attendance and timekeeping were exemplary. He never missed a day at college and was never late in any session.

From a theory perspective Lewis was excellent. He passed all exams first time and showed a real level 3 understanding of theory work. He was always active during theory sessions and displayed excellent knowledge of systems and components which he linked well to site work.

Practically he worked very hard to pass the welding module and came out with a 3 year Arc ticket to weld on site.

Lewis is a lively lad with an infectious personality who always had a great sense of humour. He mixes well with other group members and always applies himself to the best of his ability. All members of the Heating and Ventilation staff at the college have enjoyed having Lewis on our courses and in our classrooms. He is a credit not only to himself but also to his employer.

I congratulate him for the award and wish him well with his career in the H&V industry.'
