About The Project:

This project consisted of the refurbishment of an existing seven storey office block on Valpy Street in Reading City Centre to provide 61,000 square foot of office space. 3800 square foot of space for A3 use together with a reception area and basement parking.

Due to the limited floor to ceiling heights, concrete soffits and high level mechanical and electrical services were exposed incorporating a passive chilled beam system for cooling. All areas were fitted with LED lighting. A newly constructed mezzanine floor adjacent to the vehicular access to the building was also constructed to house a new shower facility for the building occupiers.

DBS were procured on a Design and Build basis, responsible for design, manufacture, supply and installation of mechanical and electrical services including a roof top plant area.
