Loughborough College A-Block
Client:
Loughborough College
Contractor:
Willmott Dixon
M&E Value:
£2 Million
Completion Date:
August 2015
About The Project:
This scheme saw the extensive refurbishment of the college’s multi-storey, six-floor A-Block which originally dated back to the 1960’s.
The project involved the complete refurbishment of all the MEP services strategy within the building, along with reconfiguring and re-routing of the incoming services. In addition a new roof and replacement cladding was fitted to envelope the building and give it a new modern feel.
As well as being stripped out completely, the building was also made more energy efficient with the use of improved lighting, and took on a much more open plan feel. The top three floors are dedicated to sixth form students at the college, a further two for chemistry, biology and physics laboratories and the remaining floors are for general teaching rooms and staff rooms.
This project followed on from the successful delivery of the Hub and VPA project for Loughborough College and as with the previous project was undertaken in a ‘live’ working environment.
