Proud to Turn Pink & Blue to Support Babyloss Awareness Week

Now in it’s 22nd year Baby Loss Awareness Week is an opportunity to bring people together as a community and give anyone touched by pregnancy and baby loss a supportive space to share their experiences and feel that they are not alone.

The theme this year “Together we Care” is centred on the message that self-care is the most important way to show we care. In fact, it’s essential if we are going to be able to raise awareness and speak out about pregnancy and baby loss.

Sometimes self-care can be small daily acts, and sometimes it is about seeking support from others to help us on our own unique journey.

The Baby Loss Awareness Week Alliance is made up of a range of different charities and organisations, who join together to support bereaved parents and families, and unite to commemorate their babies’ lives and lost pregnancies; raise awareness about pregnancy and baby loss; and drive improvements in care and support for anyone affected, and in the prevention of pregnancy and baby loss.

Each organisation offers different support, and ways to connect. They are there for you, if ever you need them, not just during Baby Loss Awareness Week.

Join the Global ‘Wave of Light’

Baby Loss Awareness Week culminates with the global “Wave of Light” on 15th October, which is also a globally recognised event.

You’re invited to join other families across the world by lighting a candle at 7pm local time and leaving it burning for at least one hour to remember all babies that have died too soon.

To join the virtual Wave of Light, take a photo of your candle and post it to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using #WaveOfLight at 7pm local time or join the Facebook Event to watch the livestream.

Wherever you do this, you will be joining a global ‘Wave of Light’ in memory of all the babies who lit up our lives for such a short time.
