The joint Police and Fire Headquarters project, at the existing Derbyshire Constabulary Butterley Hall site, provides flexibility with open plan office space for approximately 550 staff providing a connected working environment whilst allowing for a shared resource approach.
The project consists of a new build, three storey, office block on the existing site in Derbyshire with high specification mechanical and electrical services including a premium structured cabling system by HellermanTyton, a ‘Room Wizard’ meeting room booking system, video conferencing facilities, a public address system, numerous smart 4K TV’s connected to a co-axial aerial system and data point, a gas suppression system within the server room, a Police Approved Borer access control system to the doors, electromagnetic screening, intruder alarm and CCTV system that connects into the National Police Mosaic System.
The site has an array of different architectural styles, therefore, the choice of materials was instrumental in the new buildings appearance. The large expanses of glazing provides natural daylight deep into the building floor plans which are located around a central atrium ensuring natural day light enters the heart of the building.
The completed offices house the Police & Crime Commissioner for Derbyshire, and Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Authority Teams.
