The new Faculty of Arts Building will be a landmark space at the heart of the campus - a destination for engagement in the humanities and the arts.
At eight-storeys high, the Arts building will be one of the tallest buildings on campus when it opens for the 2021/22 academic year.
Lower floors consist of single and double height spaces such as lecture theatres, studios, screening rooms, cinemas and an engagement space, all of which are of a high specification in regards to finishes and acoustic performance.
Higher floors contain various teaching spaces, meeting rooms and offices served via dedicated MEP risers to each quadrant. With energy consumption being one of the key project principles, all four quadrants are linked by an open atrium rising through the centre of the building which provides the building with natural ventilation and night time cooling to all levels. Plantrooms are located at various levels throughout with the majority of MEP plant at roof level.
